Faster Hires + Sharper Meetings + Better 1-on-1s

HIRE

Speed is Everything.

Top talent is off the market in 14 days or less. Unless you’re offering over $300K and a personal chauffeur, you’re not that special.

What Usually Happens:

  • Job description stalls in approval limbo

  • Interview scheduling takes forever

  • Decision-making is slow

  • The best candidate accepts another offer

A Better Way:

  • Post the role within 48 hours

  • Review and schedule candidates within 72 hours

  • Pre-block time for interviews

  • Decide within 24 hours of final round

  • Stay warm with timely, human updates

Too difficult? It might be time to decide if the role is really needed or if you just need a hand.

LEAD

Meetings Aren’t the Problem. You (Probably) Are.

No agenda, no follow-up, no decisions. That’s not a meeting. It’s noise.

The Old Pattern: You meet to “align” + everyone shares updates + nothing gets written down + no one follows through + repeat

A Smarter Rhythm:

  • No agenda? No meeting

  • Start with last week’s action items and score them

  • End with:

    • What did we decide?

    • Who owns what?

    • By when?

  • Track it and review it every time

Good leaders don’t run more meetings. They run better ones.

GROW

Your 1-on-1s Are Useless? Don’t Panic

If your 1-on-1s are just updates and small talk, you’re missing the point.

Typical Equation: “how’s everything going?” + vague answers + random updates = 30 minutes gone, no momentum

Try This Instead:

Ground the conversation with a performance scorecard, then keep it focused with a similar vibe:

  • Wins (personal/professional)

  • Action Since Last Status (what moved, what didn’t)

  • Roadblocks (what’s in the way)

  • Feedback (two-way, always)

  • Growth Check-In (career and performance goals)

It doesn’t have to be fancy. It just has to be intentional.
